Formed in 1979, 'Hell is Here, Heaven is Here' was the ???th release from New York-based cult band Psychic TV, once renowned as one of the most prolific recording acts in history. The band exists by performance artist Genesis P-Orridge and video director Peter Christopherson. This album was recorded in New York and features Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), guesting on some tracks. Despite the long (especially by their standards) gap, the sound of the record is not especially unsurprising, though it's perhaps more accessible to 'rock listeners' than much of their albums. It's a varied record in all senses, with all sorts of combinations of instruments and electronically treated sounds. They split in 1999, but reformed in 2003 as PTV3.
