The Delta 72 - The R&B of Membership (1996)

front cover

'The R&B of Membership' was The Delta 72's debut full-lenght, released on Touch&Go Records. It's an exciting and fiery mix of 60's organ rock and gritty southern soul, some distorted guitars and postpunk hooks, greasy farfisa organ riffs, harmonica blares and screaming blues slides. After releasing 3 full-lenghts and several EP's and 7" albums, they disbanded mid 2001.

The Delta 72 - OOO (2000)

front cover

The Delta 72 were a Philadephia-based band founded in 1994, Take the best parts of soul, punk, r&b and rock , and what you'll get is a cohesive rock and roll machine. And this machine kicks, just imagine the Rolling Stones fronted by James Brown. This was their third and last full-album.

The Delta 72 - The Soul of a New Machine (1997)

front cover

The Delta 72 were an American alternative music band formed in Washington, DC in the summer of 1994, later relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After several line-up changes they've released the Triple Crown 7” and the album The R&B of Membership in 1996. Later releases include several singles and an EP and this full-length 'The Soul of a New Machine', followed by '000' in 2000. They disbanded in July 2001. Call them R&B's equivalent to the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion; the Delta 72 play revved-up indie rock with less influence from original R&B than the helter-skelter mayhem of '60s garage rock (complete with Farfisa organ break-downs) and blues-based punk (source emusic).
